This week we spent time learning about different winter holidays around the world. We talked about Christmas, Kwanzaa, and Hanukkah. Special thanks to Mrs. Moss and Mrs. Heyer for coming in and teaching us all about Hanukkah. We played dreidel games and even got to eat some gelt! On Wednesday, we wrote about the story Mrs. Wishy Washy’s Christmas and later in the week we made fun family gifts and symmetry wreaths. We ended the week with a visit from Mrs. Latham and by reading and doing fun activities with the original classic – How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
Please do not forget that Wednesday, Dec. 21st (our last day), will be a FUN day! In honor of the wonderful book The Polar Express, the children are invited to wear their pajamas and we will watch the movie. We will be serving hot chocolate and marshmallows as a special treat!
I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday. Spend time with your families and make some memories! I will see all of you back here in 2012!
